- Always keep in mind your session surrounding. Since most of my sessions take place outdoor, natural areas, choose outfit that fits this atmosphere.
- Ladies, I recommend dresses as they photograph much more feminine than jeans or pants. I recommend light/airy fabrics.
- Stay away from bright, bold, or dark colors as they do not photograph well and reflect up into the skin by creating color cast. Example: Black, coral, neons, etc. Also, stay away from bright whites. Soft whites and ivories photograph much better.
- Gentleman: My style of photography is very relaxed, soft, and airy. Keep this in mind when choosing your outfits. Example: Relaxed khakis will fit into your surroundings much more than your work khakis. A nice solid t-shirt, sweater, or (relaxed) collared shirt will photograph much better than structured, stiff work shirt.
- Gentleman: Before the session begins please make sure your pockets are empty. It may seem like a little thing, but you can see every phone, every set of keys that is hiding in a pocket. You will definitely notice these things when your photos are delivered!
- Avoid anything with text or large logos.
- Don’t wear any watches. They are distracting in photos and create a reflection/glare.
- If you wear glasses. Contact lenses are better choice than glasses. Glasses like watches can create undesirable reflection/glare impossible to remove.
- Please, be sure to iron all of your clothes. All clothes should be wrinkle-free. Photoshop is amazing, but heavily wrinkled fabrics create a textures. Textures and patterns cannot be retouched well. Wrinkled fabrics can seriously affect the overall appearance of the shot.
- Use of accessories, such as hats (avoid baseball caps), headbands, scarves, flowers in the hair for girls, jackets to really add to your look and create versatile gallery.
